Make Money on the Internet: Paid Surveys

Interesting Fact: It is Possible to Make Money on the Internet!

Next we take a more in-depth look at web surveys by answering some more focused questions on various survey sites you will find when searching the Internet.

Q  Will I receive unwanted email from these sites?

In general, legitimate paid survey sites will only email you when there is a survey available for you to take or they need to notify you of relevant information in relation to your participation in paid surveys.  A legitimate market research site should not be trying to sell you products.  If the survey site asks you whether you want more information on certain products or services you may wish to answer "no".  If you are unsure, consider doing the following:

:: Check the site has a privacy policy and read it carefully.
:: Look at the forums on the Internet to see what others say about the site.
:: If you are suspicious, don't sign up - there are plenty of legitimate companies.

Q  Should I pay for a database of paid survey sites?

There are some sites that charge for access to fairly comprehensive lists of paid surveys.  Some will also provide online survey software that assists you in filling in surveys quickly.  It is up to you if you wish to pay for such access.  If you choose to pay, be careful and do plenty of research before you spend any money.  If you do not wish to pay for access, then with a little effort you can find the sites yourself for free.  We recommend Survey Scout or Paid Surveys Online:

Q  How much can I make?

This really depends on a few things.  Various sources quote that you can make a lot of money, but it is advisable to build up over time and expand on the amount you do as you get more used to what is involved.  To help you calculate how much you could earn, take into account the following:

:: The number of web surveys you sign up for.
:: How many surveys you complete that pay cash (not all do).
:: How many interests you have (more interests mean more survey invitations).

You should certainly be able to make enough for weekends away, things for the house or extra gifts for family and friends around Christmas or birthdays.

Is it worth it for the amount of time it takes?

Probably!  In general, for the amount of time spent, the reward is good.  If a survey pays £2 and takes 10 minutes to complete, that's £12 per hour for sitting at your computer.  It is also quite fun if you sign up with companies that pay you to test products, not to mention getting to keep them!
